Many years ago, John Spalding had a hankering for some good old fashioned peanut brittle like his mother used to make.  Unfortunately, after searching high and low for some quality brittle, all he could find was the cheap stuff – you know, peanut brittle that is all brittle and no nuts!  Frustrated with the lack of quality peanut brittle in the world, and choosing not to break his teeth on the low end stuff, John decided it was time to develop his own.  In 1987, John F. Spalding dusted off Great-Grandma Spalding's old fashioned peanut brittle recipe from the 1860’s, and went to work.

After years of “tweaking” his recipe, John discovered that if he substantially reduced the amount of sugar and corn syrup that he used in his recipe, while at the same time greatly increased the amount of healthy nuts in his brittle - he could produce the most amazing brittle ever made, and it would be a healthier alternative to almost all other varieties of brittle out there.  Whereas most brittles carry as much as 15 to 35 grams of sugar per serving, each of the Brittle Brother’s brittles has sugar levels less than 12 grams/serving. Translation: Not only are they much tastier than all other brittles, they are also much better for you.  And so, John’s journey for the perfect brittle was complete…or so he thought. Now Brittle Brother's carries Cashew Brittle, Pecan Brittle and even Bacon Brittle. For more go to Brittlebrothers.com
