There’s no shortage of music or food in this town. This season, go beyond the casual bar grub and tunes, put on some real shoes and accessories, and catch a bit of romance and nostalgia at one of these dinner and music events. Cheers!

LITTLE BRICK THEATRE

Fine Food & Soulful Sounds
Picture this: shopping for holiday gifts while dressed in your best in an ideal historic downtown setting, enjoying a delectable, soul-warming meal over drinks with a friend, and topping off the perfect Saturday listening to live R&B. This dream can be yours on December 17 at The Factory in Franklin, a live show boasting some of the best R&B, Soul, Funk, Jazz, Blues, and Gospel music. Start off your afternoon by browsing the boutiques in Downtown Franklin. Once you’ve worked up a hunger, take a seat at Cork & Cow for an early dinner of zucchini fries, paella, and baked French gnocchi alongside fine wines. After you’ve had your fill, head to The Factory at Franklin, where your soul-soothing live show starts at 7 p.m. You can thank us later for the idea.

THE RYMAN

The Definitive Downtown Nashville Date
The Mother Church of Country Music has a lot more to offer to listeners than just country tunes, especially during the holiday season. Whether you go to see Kacey Musgraves’ Christmas show, Amy Grant & Vince Gill, Andrew Peterson, or Noel Nights with Rufus & Martha Wainwright, it’s sure to be festive. Before the event, park the car and enjoy cocktails and roasted beets with arugula and goat cheese, blackened shrimp and grits, or a Bear Creek flank steak and caramelized Brussel sprouts at Frothy Monkey’s downtown location. Take a hot tea or hot chocolate to-go and sip while you walk down to the Ryman. After the show, head across Broadway to Merchants for dessert (a warm fruit cobbler or cake with drinks to sip). Stopping in before 10 p.m.? Head upstairs to Merchants’ elevated dessert and cocktail menu.

THE SCHERMERHORN

A Classically Cool Evening
The Nashville Symphony has a plethora of holiday offerings in the month of December. If you’re not in the mood for another Christmas jingle, we suggest An Evening with David Crosby & Friends on December 5th. Begin your night by coupling gorgeous, grown-up music with a carefully-prepared and refined dinner at etch, just a short walk from the Schermerhorn. After taking in some sweet sounds, walk over to The Southern Steak & Oyster for delectable desserts (like seasonal Legato gelato or the chocolate cardamom cream bar) and a warming cappuccino or nightcap before heading home.

CITY WINERY

An Outing for A Couple or Group with Assorted Tastes
The City Winery offers a fabulous setting fora variety of musical styles, to include singer-songwriter Madeleine Peyrouxon November 10th. Check City Winery’s calendar for an event that works for you, then start your evening with a fine supper at Little Octopus in the Gulch. For a warming bowl of ramen which caters to vegans and meat-eaters alike. Leave the car behind and enjoy a brisk fifteen-minute walk to City Winery, where you can enjoy sweet sounds over an assortment of on-tap wines alongside dessert (like chevre and buttermilk panna cotta with balsamic and fig jam). Top off your evening with cocktails at Up, a rooftop lounge in the Gulch that will leave you all sparkly from the city views.

OZ ARTS NASHVILLE

Dinner & Dancing
Head out to West Nashville to enjoy a night of great food and energizing entertainment, without any reindeers or elves involved. Begin your evening at The Old School Farm for dinner and drinks to warm your bones; from the mushroom tart to the pan-roasted whole trout to the bacon-wrapped meatloaf. Then take the short drive over to Oz Arts on December 9th or 10th for Dorrance Dance, a modern and collaborative performance between dancer and musician that will leave you feeling inspired. After the performance, swing by Salt & Vine for vino and dessert to top-off the night.
